This months topic is ARTIST STUDY.

Artist studies were a common part of life drawing at the AIB/AUCB.

I'm sure it still is. I thought the discovery of new styles would make an interesting topic.

You could take any subject and paint / draw it in the style of an artist you like.

A little painting of my character in SKYRIM

It had to be this for me, i haven't played any other game for months now.

I have to admit I did cheat a bit when drawing him but it was nice to just have fun painting.

I was only going to post this colour one but after playing around in photoshop I preferred the black and white. 

Minecraft world

Been completely addicted to Minecraft lately, and then this topic came along.

Mass Effect Alien

Another Mass Effect themed one! I did intend to paint the whole suit to a higher finish but I have been busy lately as I am about to change my job and move to London. So I will have to finish this at a later date so drop by my blog sometime in the future and hopefully this will be finished properly!

Alien babies are cute, mkay?

OK, so I had this great image in my mind of drawing Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect in this super bad ass pose, with huge guns, massive explosions and hot asari ladies draped everywhere, maybe Miranda too... but then I drew this. And I thought, screw it. What's better than a picture of just one amazing character? I'll tell you what is. It's a picture of three amazing characters drawn hastily as babies, because babies are cute and I didn't have time to do anything else and I really wanted to contribute to this topic and now I'm rambling so I'll go...

50 Portraits

I was going to do the 100 portraits thing but decided it
would be cool to try it for this topic.
I stopped at 50 when my hand started to cramp up.

Left handed attempts at drawing my eyes and glasses have left me with this sad expression :(

Opposite hand + random generator program = Chaos!

The software I used for this is called Alchemy. Its quick and easy to use and of course free! I did some Photoshop surgery afterwards using the lasso and gradient to keep things clean.
